It is great for learning how to pedal but with the security of the handle and also for giving him a little push when he gets tired. I received this bike a month ago and my 2 year old son loves it. I would say its a nice bike once assembled. Otherwise it is good, my son enjoys rides on it ,it is solid not flimsy at all. I would say its a nice trike but very difficult to assemble, need two people to assemble not job of one person. She loves riding it with and being able to lock/unlock her steering and pedals is really useful for walks around the park. It does need a bit of assembly (took me about 20 mins) but its very easy and just needs a screwdriver. I got this for my Daughter to help her learn to pedal, and for walking around the park.
